1.4 AMR Transmission

Animal-to-human transmission of drug-resistant bacteria can occur directly, through human contact with infected animals and ingestion of raw or improperly cooked food, or indirectly, through contact with soil and water contaminated with livestock manure, or inhalation of air blown from abattoirs and livestock farms [16, 17].
